"Big Machine" - Goo Goo Dolls

I am a huge Goo Goo Dolls fan. I have been to about 5 of their concerts. I even have a picture with the lead singer (maybe I'll add it later to here). I went to one particular concert for this album and waited outside in front of the venue from 8:00am until 6:30pm. There was general seating, and I would stop at nothing to get front row. I got it! It was probably the best concert I have ever been to. They have such an energetic performance. One concert I sent to, Johnny had to leave the stage because he had to "take care of business". He stopped in the middle of "Name" (a song from the album A Boy Named Goo, also a good purchase). "Big Machine" is such a great song. High energy with lyrics that ring true (though I won't list them here). Check it out!

"Shake" - Ying Yank Twins and feat. Pitbull

"Shake" is such a great song to dance to. I remember the first time I heard it I was in Ann Arbor for the Michigan vs. Ohio State weekend with friends. We were at Club Charley's... drunk. Julie came up to me waisted wanting me to help her request this song from the DJ. We walked up there trying to scream over the load music already on... requesting the song. Finally after a few minutes, the DJ looks at me strangely, understanding what I'm saying. He then says "That is the song playing!" Hahahaha Julie was so out of it she didn't realize the song she wanted was already playing. So we jumped onto the dance floor and shook our asses to the rest of it. It was playing here on my iPod at the office, when I realized it was the unedited version.... oops!

"Long Day" - Matchbox 20

Old school, huh? I love this song because it is the right mix of good pop w/ a little soft-core punk edge. The whole album is great, but "Long Day" is my favorite.

Here is my fav. set of lyrics from it (though I hate hate hate when people list lyrics... sorry):

I'm sorry 'bout the attitude
I need to give when I'm with you
But no one else would take this shit from me
And I'm so Terrified of no one else but me
I'm here all the time
I won't go away
It's me, yeah I can't get myself to go away
It's me, and I can't get myself to go away
Oh God I shouldn't feel this way

My sentiments exactly!

"You're Still You" - Josh Groban

I absolutely am in love w/ this man. Not only is he kinda cute in a dorky way, but he has the most amazing voice. I remeber seeing him on Ally McBeal... and I never watch that show. But the episode I watched (because there was nothing else on), he was there... singing "You're Still You". I melted... and did so every other time I hear him sing!!

Dawson's Creek Season 1 Soundtrack

Ok ok ok... stop laughing! I mean it... STOP! This is a really good CD. Yes it has quite a few no-names, but the music is so nice and soothing, and has actually introduced me to artists that I may have never given a chance if it had not been for this CD. Props to Dawson's Creek music people for the carefully selected songs. You can even hear a pre-famous Jessica Simpson. Though, surprisingly, her song is one of my least favorites from the collection. I enjoy: "Feels Like Home" - Chantal Kreviazuk, "Life's A Bitch" - Shooter, "Any Lucky Penny" - Nikki Hassman , and "Crying Ophelia" - Adam Cohen. I advise going and getting this shizz... well worth your $$$.

RENT Film Soundtrack

Such a great musical and film. While I do feel the stage show is better, the film version held its own in my eyes. Rosario Dawson had me worried before I viewed the film version, but she did a really nice job... at times even better than the original Broadway Mimi. Some important songs that were from the Broadway version were not included, which disappointed me. Overall, the soundtrack is a must-have for all you musical junkies out there. Go out and get it... and sing along in the theatre and embarrass your friends, like I did. It is well worth it.
